Tyrone Washington

Biography

Tenor saxophonist Tyrone Washington recorded Natural Essence, his sole album as a leader for Blue Note, in December 1967 following sideman appearances on Horace Silver The Jody Grind and Larry Young Contrasts. During his short-lived recording career Washington also appeared on albums by Stanley Cowell and Roswell Rudd before disappearing from the jazz scene.
