November 12, 2013

Blue Note Records will turn 75 on January 6, 2014, which is the anniversary of the very first recording session with boogie woogie pianists Albert Ammons & Meade Lux Lewis. We’ll be kicking off the year with a concert celebration on January 8 at Town Hall in New York City as part of Winter Jazzfest featuring pianists Robert Glasper & Jason Moran. The next night the Revive Big Band celebrates Blue Note’s rich catalog at (le) poisson rouge. Tickets for both shows go on sale November 16.
