MOLESKINE CELEBRATES BLUE NOTE WITH LIMITED EDITION NOTEBOOK COLLECTION

August 11, 2015

Moleskine has announced the release of a five-piece Blue Note Records Limited Edition Notebook Collection in celebration of our 75th anniversary. Commemorating the New York City jazz music scene of the 1950’s and ‘60‘s, the innovative hard bop jazz era, it includes a Dexter Gordon notebook exclusive to Moleskine Stores that is available now.

Each themed cover draws on the distinctive graphic style of Blue Note albums and focuses on an American jazz musician. Dexter Gordon, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, Kenny Burrell and Thelonious Monk make inspiring companions on any journey. Holding the notebook in your hand and looking into the faces of these legends you can almost hear the music and feel your feet moving to the beat on a New York City sidewalk.

Saxophonist Dexter Gordon (1923-1990) was one of Blue Notes Records’ most influential and widely-followed artists. Although known as one of the key figures in the New York jazz scene, his notoriety for music, style, and effortless cool is international.

The limited run Dexter Gordon exclusive notebook can be purchased now exclusively on the official Moleskine Store online and at Moleskine Stores worldwide. On September 3, 2015, the other four notebooks of the collection will be for sale worldwide.

Working in partnership with Blue Note Records, these notebooks contain fascinating music reviews, photographs printed on the inside cover, and a history of the record company, as well as characteristic Moleskine notebook features like ivory-colored pages, an elastic closure and inside back pocket.
